WELCOME,  willkommen, bienvenue, bienvenido, benvenuto, welkom.

Worshipful Master's Message, Union Masonic Lodge No 23.

In 1809, the very first Worshipful Master of Union Masonic Lodge No 23 sat in the East. Now, 206 years later, I have been given the honour of being the latest in this long line of Masters. I would like to thank the Brethren of this Lodge for placing their faith in me when they elected and Installed me as their Worshipful Master. I am walking in the shadow of men who have given freely of their time, knowledge and experience. I am only too aware of the work these Brethren have invested in our Lodge.
As a Lodge, we enter 2015 in good shape. Our membership is strong, and we are lucky to have so many younger members. These younger members are willing to take part in the active duties and responsibilities of the Lodge. These members are the future of the Lodge, and our prospects look good.
I have certain wishes and aspirations for the incoming year

• To carry on our charitable works, and if possible, increase what we give to those in need.

• That when I return to the “back benches” in a years time, Union Masonic Lodge is in at least as good a position as when I attained the rank of Worshipful Master.

• That we continue seeking Fellowship with our Brethren, wherever they may live. This can only enhance and strengthen us as a Lodge. Over the last few years, Brethren from this Lodge have attended Meetings in both Scotland and England as groups. Many other Brethren regularly attend Lodges far and wide across the island of Ireland. Dependent on interest, we may well go visiting “pastures new” in 2015.

• And finally, that we practice the three basic tenets of Freemasonry, Faith, Hope and Charity, on a day and daily basis.

Should you have an interest in Freemasonry, please feel free to contact us via the website, and someone will arrange to speak with you.

May I wish you all a happy, peaceful and productive 2016.

David Revels

Worshipful Master

Union Masonic Lodge No 23
